Four of Calhoun’s own spoke at the Calhoun County Park Saturday afternoon at the Park amphitheater from 1-4 p.m. Jim Hughes, Shari Johnson, Barry Miller and Roger Carter brought messages of healing, restoration and forgiveness centered in Christ Jesus. The Calhoun County Middle High School held their annual Football Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 17th, 2025 in Grantsville. The very well attended and participated parade was filled with excitement that overflowed into the Homecoming Friday Night Game when Calhoun brought down Valley Wetzel with a winning score of 65 Calhoun/14 Valley Wetzel. The social event of the season, the famous Creston Halloween party is scheduled for Saturday, October 25 starting at 5 P. M. It is for “children” of all ages. BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Glenville State Women’s Basketball team has been picked 3rd in the Mountain East Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced at today’s MEC Basketball Media Day. DANIELS, W.Va. – Glenville State Women’s Golf finished as runner-up at the MEC Fall Championship at Glade Springs and placed two on the All-Tournament Team in Moa Lindgren and Elaina Seeley. FROSTBURG, Md. – The Glenville State Football team used a walk-off touchdown run from Jeremiah King in double overtime to complete the upset of 21st ranked and previously undefeated Frostburg State, 19-13, in Maryland earlier today.
