Recently I had a post saying that even more important than money we needed people if we were going to buy the Calhoun Chronicle and return its ownership to Calhoun County.
I said we needed people to negotiate with the current owners, form a 503(a), serve as an editor and publisher, staff an office Grantsville, sell ads, sell subscriptions and serve on a board of directors.
In other words we needed 10 volunteers.
How many have we got thus far?
Not a one. Zero. NADA!!!
There are three reasons for not getting even one volunteer.
They are:
- I am a pi*ss poor leader and somebody else needs to take over the lead on this project. Frankly, I hope that is the case.
- People have just not thought about it and have not pulled the trigger on doing something to help the people of Calhoun County.
- People just don’t care and are happy with the way things are. In other words they can accept what is no matter how bad it is.
There is still time and I pray that No. 1 or 2 are true and people will step forward eventually.
Anyhow PM me or e-mail me at realfang@citlink.net.
It is important and I would hate to see a newspaper that has chronicled Calhoun County and its people for about 150 years goes away. - Your call.
