Barbara Jo Church Obituary

Barbara Jo Church, 80, a cherished resident of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, peacefully passed away on February 15, 2024, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on August 12, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Fred Whytsell, Sr. and Vena Riggs Whytsell. Barbara was a former attendee of the Leatherbark Community Church and found joy in solving puzzle books, cooking delicious meals, and cherishing moments with her family.

Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, George H Church of Arnoldsburg; her three children, Debra (Timothy) Hornbeck, Cheryl (Charlie) Carpenter, and George F (Lisa) Church, all of Arnoldsburg; her sister, Lola “Tink” Moss of Arnoldsburg; her brothers, Frank (Jenny) and Ben (Sherry) Whytsell, all of Arnoldsburg; four grandchildren, Chad Moore, Samantha (Alex) Mace, Kayla (JJ) Bremar, and Corey Carpenter; seven great-grandchildren, Rhiannon Moore, Avery Norman, Natalia Bremar, Sophie Moore, Karina Bremar, Kamden Bremar, and Adler Mace; as well as several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings: Juanita Batten, Imogene and Laverne Whytsell, Vera Wagoner, Fred “Joe”, Ray, George, Richard, and Donald Whytsell.

Per Barbara’s wishes, there will be no services held. Her memory will be cherished dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
