Clark Arrested on Warrant after failure to Appear

On Friday, May 26, 2023 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Corporal DC Moore, and Calhoun County Sheriff Carl Balengee stopped a vehicle traveling east on State Route 33/119 near the bottom of Liberty Hill in Arnoldsburg, Calhoun County. The vehicle had been traveling with its four way flashers on for a short distance prior to the traffic stop. The vehicle was a white in color, Pontiac G6. The operator of the vehicle was Steven Clark.

While Cpl. Moore spoke with the defendant he discovered that his license had been suspended, non-dui, with a conviction date of 2/28/2019. The defendant also has a prior conviction for driving while license suspended, with a conviction date of 5/4/2022. In addition the vehicle was not properly registered, with the license plate on the vehicle coming back to a John Floro, terminated from the registration of a Chevy Cobalt. The defendant advised that the insurance on the vehicle should still be active from the last owner, but a phone call to the insurance company showed that the insurance had been inactive on the vehicle since April of 2023. The vehicle was also being driven with metal cords sticking out of the left rear tire, which would not pass the state vehicle inspection code. The defendant had the title in hand, which had been signed by the previous owner, but it bad not been signed by the purchaser.

Steven Clark was issued citations for no insurance, and driving suspended, misc, and was given 10 days to
respond, but failed to make contact with magistrate court in Calhoun County. The defendant was also given warning citations for defective equipment for the tires, and for the registration being improper. This incident occurred solely in the confines of Calhoun County, WV.
