The big summer Creston ATV Poker Run will be Saturday July 25 at the Creston Community Building. Biscuits & gravy will be ready by 8 A. M. And rides can leave at 9 AM and signups end at noon. The ride is family friendly although there a couple of places where a winch or tow strap might come in handy. When laying out the route some had to have assistance to proceed. There are some “he man” holes for those who want to see just how good their machines really are. Might be best to have a buddy handy to extricate the buried.
Last week it was reported that the meeting over the huge power lines would be Monday July 20 at the high school out at Mt. Zion but the meeting will actually be Wednesday July 22 from 4 until 7 P. M.
It was reported that one local fellow has taken up golf but that he has a “bad score”. Another couple went to the picture show over at Spencer.
The green weenies have for years now had a conniption over folks who heat & cook with coal & wood and even those who ‘cook with gas’ which, of course is much easier — no having to get up very early to build the fire in the stove to fix breakfast. These poor folks claim we are “destroying the planet, causing global warming, blah, blah, blah.” Of course honest reports show that while there has been a slight warming of the earth since the end of the Little Ice Age it is not connected to human activity. Now, the pyromaniacs up in Canada have set dozens of forest fires, primarily in Ontario and now half of the continent has smoke from the fires. Even the Creston area has the smoke & haze. But, of course, the Rockefeller family is being blamed because the family encouraged the use of petroleum products. What a joke. It would appear that the government in Canada is so busy fighting churches and doing euthanasia that there is not time to fight forest fires.
Local folks have been concerned about the Cyclospora contaminated lettuce, especially at a famous food chain and the drastic results. Seems feces contaminated lettuce came from Mexico and has caused major problems. However, right on cue, some of the deep state folks said it was “all Trump’s fault.” Lettuce could be grown in America and the harvest hands would likely know to wash their hands ‘after going potty’.
The Thursday night speech by the president along with talks by Secretaries Bessett & Rubio struck fear among certain of the politicians who wish to rule us. As one woman said, “if this happens, we will never win another election.” Election fraud including actions from Peking apparently are not supposed to be talked about in polite society. One is reminded of a certain count upon seeing a wooden crucifix.
The city of Steubenville Ohio just leased 157 acres for Utica development to Ascent and received a $7,000/acre bonus. Some are furious about the action.
It was reported that four of the brine injection wells over in Washington County Ohio have been shut down. It was reported that there was communication from the injection well to shallow oil & gas wells in different strata that are owned by others. Folks have asked now for years why brine is being injected instead of being used to recover salt (sodium chloride) and other minerals such as lithium? One might conclude that “the quick buck artists” run the show. Such is said to be the case in Nigeria where the gas is flared rather that installing pipes so folks could cook with gas rather than having to gather dung or scrounge for firewood.
Some fine second cutting hay has been harvested where the first cutting was timely cut. With generous rains pastures and meadows are doing well.
The coal baronet’s $500 million bailout was due on Thursday but nothing. Now the folks from down in Kentucky who are now owed $35 million have joined in on the Greenbrier fight to make sure they are made whole with the other folks, like the W. Va. State Tax Department, the IRS and many others. Still, there are those who hope the “financial wizard” will still be able to run for governor in 28.
As a result of “bad behavior” from the folks that chant “Death to America & death to Trump” the price of local crude rose to $80.49/bbl. With condensate bringing $63.49/bbl. And Marcellus & Utica light fetching $70.49/bbl. Natural gas elsewhere is $2.91/MMBTU but the price local producers will be paid this month for May gas is $1.165/MMBTU or a mere fraction of what was paid 20 years ago. When Mother Hope says that they need an increase in domestic rates because of high prices, well, perhaps, rates should be sliced.Cres
