North Star Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is seeking an experienced, visionary, and compassionate Executive Director to lead our nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center into its next chapter of growth and service.

About North Star Child Advocacy Center

North Star CAC is a safe, child-friendly facility where child protection, criminal justice, medical, and child treatment professionals work together to investigate child abuse in Wood, Wirt, Pleasants, Calhoun, and Ritchie counties, hold offenders accountable, and help children heal.

In the darkest moments of a child’s life, North Star CAC provides a safe environment where children can tell their stories and begin their journey toward healing.

Position Summary

The Executive Director serves as the Chief Executive Officer of North Star Child Advocacy Center and is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, financial management, fundraising, community relations, and operational success of the organization.

Working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, multidisciplinary team partners, donors, and community stakeholders, the Executive Director ensures the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services while promoting the organization’s long-term sustainability and growth.

Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership or management experience.

· Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.

· Experience managing budgets, personnel, and administrative operations.

· Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with staff, board members, community partners, and stakeholders.

Preferred

· Experience working in child advocacy, victim services, social services, criminal justice, or a related field.

· Experience supervising multiple employees.

· Grant writing and grant management experience.

Travel Requirements

· Occasional travel is required (5-10%) to attend training, conferences, community events, fundraising activities, partner agency meetings, and other business-related functions.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and maintain insurance coverage as required by law.
