Creston News week of June 15th, 2026

Denise Bunner has some spectacular tiger lilies & she won four games at the Creston Community Building bingo on Saturday.

The Wirt road crew was mowing back along W. Va. 5 while other counties were applying more herbicide.  Dimbulb the highway commissioner said all the potholes would be fixed by Decoration Day but, not so long back a local fellow was going north on I-77 in Charleston and hit a dandy near a bridge.  Well, guess what, on Friday the same fellow was repeating his prior trip and again hit the same hole which (should folks need to know) in on the northbound before one exits Greenbrier Steer to the state capitol.

Jimmy Wright and his friend Nancy have been having health problems up in Ohio so sister Kathleen went up to help them for a while.

The big Ergon catfish fry is June 24 at the Shrine Club in Marietta near the fairgrounds.  Come and hobnob with oily women, gassy men, producers, field workers, oil truck drivers, etc.

The coal baronet said he had a plan to keep the Greenbrier and fend off the meanies from Omni.  However, it seems that noting has been done as at the Raleigh County tax sale 18 pages [single spaced] of his taxes sold and on many there will be $500.00 legal bills that are more than the taxes.  Meanwhile he begrudgingly continues to play U. S. Senator and now the claim is that the president kept him out of criminal problems.  Of course there are those who have terminal cases of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) and they never miss a chance.

Utility Arborists continue to trim power line rights-of-way around Creston.  The trucks do not say where the company is based and it appears all the workers are aliens.  Some years back the government set up policies that encouraged employers to hire non U. S. Citizens [to the detriment of Americans] as part of the “great replacement” policy as the “rulers” did not like ordinary citizens.

Along those same lines there is apparently a lot of furor over the cleaning of monuments, fixing of fountains and repair of the reflecting pool at the Washington monument.  The Big Eared One had a policy of managed decline for the nation and making the nation’s capitol city shine was a “no no”.  Perhaps those folks could relocate to Lower Slobbovia. (check your old cartoons).

Elon Musk was a hero to the left when he made electric cars and then he teamed up with Pres. Trump and then he became bad even though he has helped in all sorts of places, Ukraine, western North Carolina when there was no communication, etc.  Now he went public with SpaceX and became a trillionaire [on paper] and the communists are furious.  Also, 4000 of his present & former employees became millionaires.  Are they bad too?

The War Department has released a new bunch of “flying saucer” pictures and data that the CIA didn’t want anyone to see or talk about.  One local resident remembers when about age 12 a yellow disc appeared in the sky during the day  and went from west to east and then about 10 years later when hitchhiking with a fellow who going to join the marines over near New Creek when both saw a yellow disc in the sky just after dusk.

Some local folks have been having medical problems.

Now that there appears that there will be another pause in the Iran war the price of local Pennsylvania grade crude fell to $82.88/bbl. With condensate fetching just $65.88/bbl. And Marcellus & Utica light bringing $72.88/bbl.  The chicken little sky is falling crowd had been talking about astronomical prices to try to force the president to let Iran get a nuclear bomb to wipe us off the map.  Natural gas elsewhere is $3.12/MMBTU but local natural gas is only $1.6158/MMBTU.   Well, you know, you understand that folks like you can’t be paid what a product is worth.
