Sr. Trooper J.D. Richards filed a complaint in the Calhoun Magistrate Court on June 12, 2026 state that on Thursday, June 11th, 2026, he responded to a
direct report of theft by an employee from the Manager of the ParMar Gas Station and convenience store located at 802 Arnoldsburg Road, Arnoldsburg, Calhoun County, WV.
On the same date, at approximately 5:05 p.m., Trooper Richards arrived on scene and spoke to the Manager, Kathy Thomas, who advised him that she had CCTV footage of a night shift employee stealing a phone and opening another. Trooper Richards was able to observe, via CCTV foolage, that on 06/10/2026 at approximately 11:10 p.m. an employee identified as Star Felder using the employee keys to open a display case near the cash registers and f’rom that case, she removes a Link-Up Base Phone valued at $102.39. Ms. Felder is seen on the CCTV footage opening the package housing the phone with a pair of scissors. She then places the phone back in the package and takes the package to the bathroom. Later Ms. Felder is seen placing what looks like trash in
a purple Takis bag and putting it in the trash can near the registers. This Taki’s bag was recovered by the manager and observed by Trooper Richards to have the trash from inside of the phone case placed inside of the Taki’s bag. Later,
Ms. Felder opens another phone case, but does not take it to the bathroom. She instead is seen tampering with its contents. Ms. Felder then places the two phone boxes back in the display glass, both reportedly behind an untampered Cellphone box.
Trooper Richards was then pointed to two phone boxes sitting on a shelf in the office. Ms. Thomas advised that these boxes are shipped to the store sealed and usually include a charger, SIM card, phone battery, and phone. When Trooper Richards investigated the contents of both these boxes, in one box the phone, battery, and charger were missing. In the other, the SIM card in this box had been punched out of the holding card, but not taken. In the other box, the
phone and charger were still present, but the SIM card out of the box was missing.
The state that Ms. Felder left the products in made them unfit for sale according io the manager. The total cost incurred by Par Mar for this loss is $204.78.
Trooper Richards requested a received a warrant for the arrest of Star Felder who is currently in the WV Central Regional Jail on a $3,000 bond awaiting trial for Petit Larceny and Destruction of Property.
Ms. Felder is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
