A local fellow was talking to a man who lives over in the next county and is an operating engineer.  He noted that he was working where the titanium plant is being built near Ravenswood and that his son completed the program run by the Operating Engineers at Medina and is now working on a big cleanup project at duPont and will be there through 2028.  The fellow noted that he went to the union meeting the other evening & the business agent reported that they were short handed on the data center construction in Mason County and the proposal in Putnam County and the northern panhandle was problematic for the union as they lack the men for the jobs.  It is obvious that there are a lot of “help wanted” signs out and about and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is looking for a 5% growth rate.

The state of Ohio has a three month fuel tax holiday to drop the price of gasolene & diesel through December 31.  Gasolene in Belpre is now $3.70/gallon.  It has been made clear that, after the election, the fine gentlemen who call for “Death to America” will soon get to ‘enjoy’ their 72 virgins and then the price of crude and refined products will return to “pre-war” prices.  Those who are making the biggest noises about “high fuel prices” are the ones who were calling for gas to go to $10/gallon so we would stop traveling [and ride the train] or stay in our hovel.

Some Creston folks went with the Knotts Church group from Grantsville to see the play “Ezekial, Prophet of Fire” at Sugar Creek Ohio.  The play also featured a live camel and a donkey.  Just like in the Book “good queen” Jezebel was thrown out the window and her body was eaten by the street dogs as no one would claim the carcass.

The asters are in bloom, some blue and some white adding more color to the scenery.

Those who missed paying their 2025 taxes have to the end of the month to keep their property from being turned over to the W. Va. State Auditor.  Said another way, it will be much cheaper to redeem the property now rather than later.

Columbia Gas a part of Trans/Canada is abandoning a storage field in Marshall County and across the line into Pennsylvania.  There are 57 injection & withdrawal wells and 14 observation wells.   The real reason is unclear.

The fact that the break in the line that goes between Creston & Burning Springs caused a 9% jump in the price of natural gas just shows how significant this pipeline is that carries just under 2bcf (billion cubic feet) of natural gas/day to the Gulf of America where is is load on boats as LNG for export to the world.

With condensate fetching $72.11/bbl. & Marcellus & Utica light bringing $79.11/bbl.  Brent (North Sea) crude was $102.25/bbl while West Texas crude was $91.11/bbl.  The Henry Hub natural gas price was S3.04 but local gas was (before transportation fees) $1.59.
