Gerald D. Riddle, 75, of Big Bend, passed away on September 20, 2026, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was the son of the late Early Riddle and Georgia Radcliff Riddle Lott.
Gerald attended Gilmer County High School. He worked as a truck driver for 22 years before becoming a school bus driver for the Calhoun County Board of Education.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, camping, and eating Twinkies. Known for his giving heart, Gerald was a friend to everyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Gerald is survived by his daughter, Jody Kerby and her husband, Gary; his stepsons, Ron Markley and Stan Markley; his grandchildren, Jacob Markley, Kaitlyn Miller, William Kerby, and Leeann Kerby; and his great-grandchildren, Storm and Atticus. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Beamer Riddle, and his brothers, Larry and Fred Radcliff.
A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held at a later date.
