Ridgeview and The Jesus Chick – To a Community in the throws of a Political Battle.
What makes me different than “most” News Reporters is the vantage point from which I write. While I would love to get into the emotional side of myself every day when I write, I can’t always allow myself. But sometimes I just have to because if I don’t I fully believe the top of my head will explode.
I’ve shared a little of my life with Mother and caring for her in the midst of dementia; but add to that a husband, two girls (one of which is running for political office) and their spouses, six grandchildren, a plethora of my own siblings and their offspring, and I can be a hot mess on any given day just from all those people that I adore. Now let’s add to that mix – Community. They may have not been raised with me, but they were raised around me, so many of us share the same idealisms especially those in the church. Oh wait… even those vary from denomination to denomination. Democrat, Republican, Independent, etc. So just maybe we’re all a mess.

Judge not, that ye be not judged.
This is my grandson’s favorite verse. So much so that he had it tattooed on his chest. Figuring that surely “Noni” (that’s me) wouldn’t mind a tattoo if it were a bible verse.
That verse is often used with the attitude “Don’t judge me. You have no right. God says so.”
Did He?
As I told my Grandson, “It’s a wonderful verse, but the focus isn’t on you not being judged by people, it’s the fact that we are all judged by God, and His judgement is really the only one that matters.”.
That is why a recent judgmental conversation in the political realm brought my ire to a boiling point. I have clearly stated on Ridgeview News that I am conservative and that I am registered Republican. I have made no qualms about the antics of the National Democratic Party being what I considered evil by their ungodly standards on abortion, anti gun and other anti-God behaviors. By that same conviction, I will not stand in agreement with anyone who uses the accused vile behaviors of one person, who will stand on their own before a judge and jury of their peers and more importantly before almighty God and answer for their crimes, and lump all persons of a political persuasion into the category of a child molester.
I have been accused of convicting that same person without a trial because I run the articles regarding his indictment and trial on Ridgeview. That’s what the news is for. And I have not once said that anyone was guilty before a conviction in court. I’ve only stated what occurs in the court of law. I do so to keep the public apprised of the affairs of the county, and allow the citizens to determine for themselves what the facts reveal and know how their family is affected by it.
When I say my head nearly exploded over this ordeal, that is of course not a figurative fact, but rather a description of how I felt. Everyone has the right to say how they feel whether or not anyone else is in agreement. Until you speak for an organization… such as the Republicans… and make a blanket statement such as “the Democratic affiliation of an ‘accused molester’ condemns that entire party.” As a person who, even as Republican chair, never accused the local party of the crimes of even the National party. And let me add that anyone who boldly stood in agreement with the National Democratic Party, I would gladly call them as I seen them. Jesus said in John 7:24
“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.”
Righteous judgement is that according to scripture, and praise God Christ does not condemn us for the sins of another. As a matter of fact, we’re not condemned at all but forgiven by Him if we are a child of God and accept that He paid for every sin on the cross of Calvary.
1 Corinthians 4:5 KJV
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
