Loretta E. McCumbers, 69, of Sand Fork, WV; departed this earthly life in the mid-afternoon hours of Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, WV; following a brief illness.
She was born September 17, 1956 in Weston, WV; daughter of the late Clyde W. Ball and Nora (Curtis) McCord.
Loretta was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. She was a Christian by faith and enjoyed cooking, living the quiet life in Gilmer County, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving is a son, Steven McCumbers of Sand Fork, 1 granddaughter, Nora E. McCumbers, and 2 brothers, Robert Ball of Glenville, and Harvey Ball (Georgiana) of Victor, WV; and long-term companion, Roger Browning of Strange Creek, WV.
Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 1:00 PM; Thursday, August 13, 2026 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery near Walkersville, WV. Family and friends will be received from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm; Thursday, at the mortuary in Glenville.
