Executive Director for Little Kanawha Area Development Corp. with offices in Grantsville, Calhoun County, WV and Elizabeth, Wirt County, WV
Little Kanawha Area Development Corporation (LKADC) is a public nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation and the lead economic and community development organization for Calhoun and Wirt Counties, WV. LKADC’s mission is to improve the welfare of county residents by promoting and supporting responsible business and industry recruitment, startup, growth, and prosperity, while leveraging available resources to advance economic development in both counties. The successful candidate will report to a board of directors appointed by the Calhoun County and Wirt County Commissions.
The successful applicant will be expected to function independently of daily supervision and will set the tone and agenda of the organization, subject to input and approval by the LKADC Board of Directors.
Preferred qualifications and skills include, but are not limited to:
· BA or MA in public administration, business management, marketing, or a related field.
· Experience in economic and community development activities at the local and state level.
· Familiarity with public support services for business and industry.
· Understanding of financial management, financial reporting and record keeping.
· CEdC or PCED credential a plus. Willingness to pursue such certification(s).
· Grant writing experience preferred.
· Skill in written and oral communication.
· Skill in computer applications, incl. Microsoft and Quickbooks.
· Willingness to serve as LKADC representative with various regional and state development organizations.
· Some area and state travel are required.
Starting Annual Salary: $50,000, plus benefits.
