Miller Arrested for Assault and Brandishing a Deadly Weapon against a Juvenile

Deputy C.R. Stephens was responded on October 29th, 2026 to a complaint on upper south side of Grantsville. He spoke to Kendra Curry and her daughter (a juvenile) who stated that she was running around Hathaway Street when she saw a woman pull a knife out and threaten to kill her. The juvenile was placed in enough fear that she ran to the nearest residence of a fellow parishioner where she was observed to be visibly upset and in a state of flight. The parishioner to where the child fled was Melissa Green who had seen Shannon Miller, whom she knows, walking in the area during the time of the occurrence of this incident.

Deputy Stephens spoke to Miller at her residence where she denied threatening anyone with a knife but stated that she had taken a knife back to her neighbors house and placed it on a roof. The Deputy walked next door and immediately saw a knife on the roof of the neighbors house and seized it as evidence. The knife was a wooden handled kitchen knife with an approximate 10.5 inch serrated blade. He showed the knife to the victim and she said it looked familiar. Deputy Stevens requested and received a warrant for the arrest of 49 year old Shannon Miller.

Miller was taken into custody, arraigned and incarcerated in the WV Central Regional Jail. Her bond was set at $30,000. Ms. Miller is innocent until proven guilty.
