Mt. Zion PSD Operators Submit Letters of Resignation

More struggles appear to be ahead after the Mt. Zion Public Service District received resignation letters from their current operator and staff member, both citing the issue of the board refusing to listen to their concerns.

The letters were provided to Ridgeview News from the Operator themselves.

Dear Mt. Zion PSD Board,

Effective today, April 8, 2026, I hereby tender my resignation, effective immediately.

I entered this role with sincere hopes that it would provide an opportunity for growth, stability, and meaningful contribution. However, over time, it has become clear that the direction of the organization, particularly the apparent dissolution of the O&M agreement and ongoing micromanagement, has created challenges that hinder my ability to effectively serve in my role.

As Chief Operator, I have worked diligently to lead with integrity, restore customer relationships, and strengthen community partnerships. I have remained committed, consistently present, and responsive to the needs of the system and its customers.

Unfortunately, my leadership and professional judgment have been repeatedly second-guessed and undermined, making it impossible to continue in this capacity.

It is my hope that, moving forward, the organization continues to prioritize and foster the customer relationships and community trust that I have worked hard to cultivate. Our customers are our greatest priority, and ensuring they remain a priority is essential to Mt Zion PSD’s success.

I respectfully request written acknowledgment confirming receipt of this resignation, as well as documentation verifying that all PSD materials have been returned.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve.

Sincerely,

Trenten L. Cunningham, Chief Water Operator

Dear Mt. Zion PSD Board,

Effective today, April 8, 2026, I hereby submit my resignation from my position as Field Worker, effective immediately.

I accepted this role with the intention of contributing positively to the system and supporting its operations. However, ongoing challenges have made it difficult to continue in this position. These include the apparent dissolution of the O&M agreement, the loss of company trucks, and a noticeable decline in workplace morale.

Additionally, it has become evident that staff concerns, especially those of Trenten, have not been adequately heard or addressed by board leadership. The current management structure, particularly following recent hiring decisions, has contributed to communication barriers and operational inefficiencies that impact both employees and the quality of service provided.

Despite these challenges, I have made every effort to remain committed, support my team, and serve the community to the best of my ability. It is my hope that, moving forward, steps will be taken to restore morale, improve communication, and ensure the resources and leadership needed for success are in place.

I respectfully request written acknowledgment of this resignation, as well as confirmation that all company-issued materials have been returned.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve.

Sincerely,

Louis Francis
