Judge Anita Harold Ashley scheduled a new trial date for former Calhoun County Commissioner Jacob McCumbers for December 8th, 2026 which will be held in Roane County, West Virginia following the change of venue.
McCumbers has been charged with 250 felony counts in connection with allegations that he sexually assaulted a child over a nine-year period. Both the counsel for the State, Doddridge County Prosecutor and the Defense Counsel informed the Judge that it was difficult making it through the amount of information involved and requested the trial date be pushed out from October 27th, 2026 to December 8th, 2026.
Outside the Calhoun County Courthouse, members of the Community protested the continuing release of McCumbers who remains free on $400,000 bond.
