In a complaint filed by Deputy H.M. Stephens in Calhoun Magistrate Court on March 30, 2026, a warrant was issued for the arrest of 68 year old Patty Elaine Wiseman for Malicious Wounding.
The complained stated that on 03/30/2026, at approximately 12:30 p.m. Deputy Stephens was dispatched to 11 Wolf Run Road for a 911 call stating that an elderly woman had stabbed another woman in the face with a kitchen knife.
When Deputy Stephens arrived at the residence and entered the side door, she observed a trail of blood in the kitchen and a woman identified as the victim, Sharon Settle, sitting at the table with bloody gauze covering her face and hand. The accused, identified as Patty Elaine Wiseman, was located in the living room and admitted to officers that she had become angry with the victim, had grabbed a knife from the kitchen drawer, and cut the victim across the face, stating that she had been aiming for her eye.
A fight ensued, resulting in both the victim and accused sustaining injuries to their hands. Ms. Wiseman advised that she had placed the bloody knife back in the drawer, where it was recovered. A witness to the event advised that she saw Ms.
Wiseman with the knife “gashing” the other woman’s face.
During this investigation, Ms. Wiseman advised that she is
also a household member of the victim and has been living with her for a number of years.
Wiseman is being held for the felony charge at WV Central Regional Jail with a bond of $30,000 in case 26-M07F-00009. A Preliminary Hearing date is set for April 4, 2026 at 1:30 p.m.
