Charleston, WV — The West Virginia Republican Party released the following statement regarding social media posts made by Delegate Anitra Hamilton (D-Monongalia) regarding the assassination of Conservative icon and influencer, Charlie Kirk.
When people show you who they are, believe them.
While millions of Americans are reeling from the very public assassination of founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, West Virginia Democrat Delegate Anitra Hamilton took to social media with the following statement:

| These sentiments are all too common from the Left and do not represent our American and West Virginian values. This statement is beneath the dignity of the office she holds and does not represent the views of her constituents. Charlie Kirk was murdered while delivering political commentary and any attempt to minimize or justify such a horrific act of violence is reprehensible and especially disqualifying for a member of a deliberative body built on the free exchange of ideas. |

Frankly, the only inaccuracy I see in her statement is that saying racist things is not protected by the first amendment, when, quite clearly it is. Otherwise, there is nothing I would consider hateful in her statement. Especially when measured against virtually everything that ever came out of Kirk’s mouth.
While I do not condone or encourage celebrating anyone’s death, I do recognize that, under the first amendment, it is every American’s right to do so.
If y’all weren’t so terrified of words like “equity,” you’d understand that all that means is that what works for you, works for me too. The main difference being that you’d happily stay quiet if it means shutting me up too, whereas, I won’t stay quiet for any reason.
And, that brings me to a new word I learned, Sadopopulism: the willingness to endure any amount of tyranny so long as people you don’t like are being treated worse.
Talk about a race to the bottom…
This is the battle “they” want us engaged in so we don’t notice that they’re cleaning out the US Treasury.
Christian nationalism is anything but Christian. Please, don’t let them confuse you.
