The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation awarded the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department a check for $13,000 for the purchase of AEDs and Turnout Gear Heavy- Duty Washing Machine.
An AED is an Automated External Defibrillator is a portable medical device used to treat cardiac arrest. It analyzes the heart’s rhythm and, if necessary, delivers an electrical shock to restore a normal heartbeat.
The grant was written by County Administrator, Jennifer Randolph following a request from Chief Lucas Morford for assistance with purchasing the AEDs.
