
Darrel “Pat” Wilson, 77, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, at Minnie Hamilton Health System, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 11, 1948, in Big Springs, West Virginia, and was the son of the late Alfred Harley Wilson and Liddie Ellen Selmon Wilson Westfall.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beautiful and beloved wife, Betty Ann Wilson; his daughter, Tina Dawn Nicholson; his son, Larry Gene Wilson; his stepfather, Lester Westfall; his brothers, Kenneth Westfall and Jack Wilson; and his sisters, Marlene Kight, Lois Wilson, and Darlene Wilson.
Darrel is survived by his children, Tammy (Kevin) Thompson, Heather (Bill) Anderson, Donna (Duane) Nichols, Greg (Debra) Nicholson, and Aaron Lee Wilson; his brother, Doil Westfall; and his sisters, Betty Hosey and Flossie McDonald.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Terra, Matthew, Amy, Sinsara, Colleen, Kristin, Emily, Trenton, and Cole; and his great-grandchildren, Damien, Jace, Darilynn, Zoey, Jason, Kaelynn, Nick, Liam, Jordyn, Miles, and Mollie, all of whom he loved deeply.
He was a longtime employee of Grantsville Tire and Shock Well Service. Darrel proudly served his country as a member of the 34th Infantry, serving as a Scout Dog Pointman during the Vietnam War from 1968–1969.
Darrel was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. He was a devoted provider to his children and grandchildren, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be conducted by Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Hunt Cemetery on Norman Ridge, with Bob Bailey officiating.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Minnie Hamilton Health System, the LTC residents, and the entire hospital staff for the love and care shown to him and to our family. He loved you all.
