Glenn Lee McDonald Obituary

Glenn Lee McDonald, 68, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, June 15th. Glenn was the beloved husband of Lisa K. McDonald, his wife of 37 years. He is also survived by a son Ryan and granddaughter Anna; along with many extended family members and friends, all who loved Glenn dearly.

Glenn was born in Chester, PA, and later lived in Delaware for many years before moving to West Virginia. Glenn and Lisa immediately fell in love with the beauty of WV, the mountains, the green valleys, and the wonderful friends and neighbors they met in WV.

Glenn proudly served in the US Army for seven years, serving the military police. He was stationed in Korea, 38th parallel DMZ. Glenn loved wearing his US Army cap with gold letters of patriotic promise.

Glenn loved his job driving trucks long distance. He would say “the road gets in your blood and you can’t get away.” He was our favorite “asphalt cowboy.” You can be sure that many family and friends would call Glenn for driving directions all over the country. And every time, Glenn knew the best way and the best roads to take.

Glenn loved being outdoors; riding on the tractor, helping Lisa with their horses, working in the garden, sitting on the porch, or snoozing under the tree while sitting on the tractor. He was happy outdoors walking the dogs down to the river, kayaking, and taking a rest sitting on the rocks watching the water rush by. Yes, Glenn loved being outside; especially with his cup of coffee.

Rest in Peace Glenn. You will always be missed and always kept in our hearts.
