Glenville State University Women’s Leaders Circle Awards Scholarship to Calhoun County Student

GLENVILLE, WV – Glenville State University (GSU) student Megan Harding was among the recipients of the Spring 2022 Women’s Leadership Circle Scholarship. The scholarship, awarded annually, is open to all female students at Glenville State University.

Harding, a junior studying Elementary Education (K-6) and Social Studies Education (5-9) from Calhoun County, West Virginia, is involved in the Early Education Student Group, the Student Reading Interest Group, and is a member of the GSU Women’s Golf Team. She graduated from Calhoun County High School in 2020.

Harding plans to use her scholarship to assist with costs related to completing her degree. “It is such an honor to receive the Women’s Leadership Circle Scholarship because it has shown me that amazing things can happen when women come together,” said Harding. After graduation, she plans to return to her hometown to teach.

Madelynn V. Ojanpera-Lynch and Avalon Green were also awarded Women’s Leadership Circle Scholarships.

The Women’s Leadership Circle was founded on the basis of fellowship, opportunity, and philanthropy and envisions a community of female givers who provide opportunities and support to female students at Glenville State University. In addition to aiding projects on campus, members will help create a culture of female empowerment on the GSU campus and surrounding community, helping women to prepare for and grow in their careers and leadership positions.
