Lillie L. (Mace) O’Brien, 80, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on July 22, 2026 at Roane General Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born on September 11, 1945 in Arnoldsburg, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late Oral Mace and Ernestine Mace.
Lillie was a devoted and loving mother, wife, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and canning. She was a devoted WVU Mountaineer Football fan as well. Lillie was also a Christian by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roger Jake O’Brien; one daughter Patricia Ann O’Brien Paxton; two brothers, and one sister.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter Christina Marie O’Brien; two sons Richard L. O’Brien (April); Roger J. O’Brien II (Pam); six sisters; two brothers, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Taylor Vandale Funeral Home on Sunday July 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m with Reverend Shelly Mace officiating. Public visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in O’Brien – Simmons Cemetery.
The O’Brien family want to give a special Thank You to the Roane General Long-Term Care and Acute Care staffs.
