Meadows and Bohmke Arrested and Jailed for False Reporting

In a complaint filed in the Calhoun Magistrate Court on March 21st, 2024 by Trooper Brian Young, he stated that on March 9 at 7:53 a.m., March 17 at 9:23 a.m., March 18 at 11:00 p.m. and March 20, 2024 at 11:14 p.m. he was contacted by Calhoun County 911 in reference to the accused, 38 year old Justin Rae Meadows and 42 year old Patricia Lynn Bohmke calling from 1277 E Little Kanawha HWY, Grantsville, Calhoun County, WV and hanging up when dispatches answer. The 911 dispatcher attempted to call the number which then went to Voice mail or no one answers.

This prompted the Calhoun 911 center to contact law enforcement to conduct an investigation which led to the discovery of the accused and his girlfriend calling the emergency number multiple times and not speaking to the dispatchers and not answering the calls when they called back. This also preoccupied the dispatchers and emergency phone lines during their phone calls with this false information, placing others in danger if they needed to use the 911 services. Officers were dispatched to the address to see if there was an emergency and the victim could not speak.

The Callers called from 1277 E Little Kanawha HWY, Grantsville, Calhoun County and contacted Calhoun County 911 center each time.

Both Justin Meadows and Patricia Bohmke were charged with 4 count each of allegedly Falsely Reporting an Emergency Incident and are each being held on a $10,000 Cash/Surety Bond at the West Virginia Central Regional Jail awaiting trial.

The WV Code reads as follows: §61-6-20. Falsely reporting an emergency incident.

A person is guilty of reporting a false emergency incident when knowing the information reported, conveyed or circulated is false or baseless, he (1) Initiates or circulates a false report or warning of or impending occurrence of a fire, explosion, crime, catastrophe, accident, illness or other emergency under circumstances in which it is likely that public alarm or inconvenience will result or that firefighting apparatus, ambulance apparatus, one or more rescue vehicles or other emergency apparatus might be summoned.

Any person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $500 or confined in the county jail not more than six months, or both fined and confined.
