Creston News Week of April 27th

There were 434 riders at the spring Creston ATV poker run.  The community would like to thank all those who came & rode, those who set up and took down the route, donated items for door prizes, those who made desserts, fixed and served the food, signed up folks, worked the stations, parked the vehicles, sent out the cards and all the other chores necessary to have a successful event.  One of the workers brought fresh baked bread with homemade jam one day and the next time brought fresh pepperoni roles. “Elmo” the Elmore, while helping clean the trail after the ride, showed how to go through a mud hole in which others got stuck and had to be extricated.  In addition to local folks there were folks from Michigan and Delaware who came just to ride.  There was lots of water and after the midday rain there was plenty of mud for those who wanted to slip & slide.  Several of the play holes located alongside the route were thoroughly tested. Betsy Jarvis came in first followed by Dana Knapp & Shawn Barr who also won the 50/50.  The kitchen ran out of food.  Some folks had breakdowns but there were no serious problems.  Some folks sing about going to Beulah Land but the riders got to go over Mt.
