Creston News: Where’s the PSC?

Rev. Kevin Gillespie filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.

The Wirt County Farm Bureau annual meeting will be Wednesday October 25 at 6 P. M. at the dining hall at Camp Barbe.  Bring a covered dish.

The Creston Halloween party will be Saturday, October 28 at 5 P. M. at the Community Building.  It is the social evet of the season as everyone can dress up and be somebody –an event for children of all ages.  Contact Barb or Wilma or Kathleen or Donna.  There will be ghastly hay rides, a mild version for the little ones and another for those who dare.

Creston’s member of the House of Delegates resigned to, we are told to take a state job and now there is a vacancy.  Most of Wirt County is in with Roane County.  Applicants should contact the W. Va. State Committee for an application & then a committee of Wirt & Roane residents will send 3 names to the governor  & he will pick from those.  Civic minded folks are urged to apply for otherwise people from elsewhere will chose who they want.

The Noah Richards benefit Saturday at Shade Tree was a big success with over $2,000 being raised for his kidney problem. There were 25 jeeps on their ride that left at 10:30 and made it back at 5 P. M. Many others showed up for the event.

Adith Spencer, age 87, wife of the Mayor of Deever’s Fork passed away.  She was a retired Wirt County school teacher. No services have been planned.

Francis Lockhart, Jr., age 60 passed away after  a fight with cancer. Burial is to be in the Rector Cemetery.

Last week in the column it was noted the problem local folks who needed e-mail for work purposes had been enduring.  One local lady noted her phone had been out for 3 weeks [they were very busy & couldn’t get to Creston to fix the problem] and her internet was out as well.  One local fellow had been trying for a week to call an associate in Tyler County about an important meeting but to no avail.  The local folks had to drive up to Alma to relay a message.  Someone said, “Why don’t you call the cell phone?”  Well, Alma is like Creston, cell phones do not work.  A local woman who had been away for 40 years “moved back home” and wanted the Wild Frontier Telephone Company to install a telephone for her.  She was told, “We don’t hook up land lines any more!” “But cell phones don’t work here.”  Apparently, that is not their problem.  Where is the PSC?

West Virginia apparently “won” the hydrogen hub lottery with $1 billion taxpayer dollars to the connected ones. Maybe Justice can pay his bill to the Russian oligarchs and the banks. The story is that natural gas will be used to make the hydrogen and the CO2 will be sequestered [could be used for secondary oil recovery, adding fizz to pop, etc.].  The positive of all this “free cash” is that there will be lots of drilling in West Virginia to provide the natural gas.  It is apparent that oil & gas leasing has picked up although not around Creston at this time.  Whoever Long Ridge is, that firm is leasing in Taylor County [Grafton].

EQT, the Pittsburgh gas firm that “advises” some of our leaders and wants to export all of our gas for the big bucks [which are not shared], has indicated that the firm plans to leave the skyscraper at 625 Liberty Avenue in the former steel city and that the structure would become apartments.  It is obvious that big cities have become dangerous & those who can leave.

The war in Israel has brought the “cockroaches out of the woodwork” so to speak.  Our leaders, after being well paid, said the genocide against the Uigurs in China was now OK since big $$ is involved.  Now those who hate the Hebrew children are emboldened.  As an old parody song went, “Hitler’s not dead, he’s only hiding patiently waiting for the Nazis to rise . . .”  Chants of “gas the Jews” is very scary and now one wonders why anyone takes Harvard seriously nowadays.  Land for Peace Jimmy Carter has been proven badly wrong, at least 1300 times now [in one day].  The Big Eared One hates Israel and loves Iran where the “legislators ” chant “Death to America”.  Some would do well to study the Old Testament.  As they say, “Truth has no sale date but lasts.”  In the modern world no place, even Creson is safe.  No surprise really but the Big Eared One had several Iranian spies working at the top level of America’s government.

While the NYMEX price of natural gas rose to $3.38/MMBTU one Calhoun producer was paid 25 cents for his natural gas that is sold to Mother Hope, the utility, thus eliminating the middleman so they say.  No doubt local residents who heat with Mother Hope’ natural gas will “reap the benefits” of low wellhead prices.

It was noted in Congress the other day that the taxpayers are funding research to have transgenic food vaccines obtained by eating GMO lettuce or perhaps meat or milk.  The war against Israel isn’t the only example of pure evil running rampant in today’s world.  The attacks on women & children are awful, to say the least.  If was noted that the m-rna vaccines make the recipients GMO organisms, that is to say the folks who took the jab have had their DNA changed & there is no reversal. According to government figures there are now at least 600,000 vaccine related deaths in America.

Reflecting the world turmoil the price of local Pennsylvania grade crude rose to $86.69/bbl. with condensate fetching $68.69/bbl. while Marcellus & Utica light brought $77.69 and medium $86.69/bbl.  Those who have been out & about note that gasolene prices are generally high but in Parkersburg one can obtain low test for $3.01/gallon.  Some leaves are turning and a red maple on the road from Creston to Spencer has the best color.
