Because of the Wood Festival the Creston Bingo Game will be held on Saturday, June 13 at the Creston Community Building with the doors opening at noon with the games starting at 1 P. M.

A big slip came in the Woodring Road just past the LKR bridge.  For those who are not familiar the Woodring Road goes under the Route 5 bridge to go upriver to Mile Run, etc.  The state road has both a back hoe and the gradall on scene to fix the problem.

There seems to be more ticks this year and elsewhere the situation is said to be drastic with farmers finding boxes full of ticks in their fields.  Oligarch Bill Gates and the WEF (World Economic Forum) have both talked about using the lone star tick to infect folks with the Alpha Gal virus that makes folks allergic to red meat. Gates said this would help “fight global warming” as humans would no longer be able to eat meat.  Perhaps some folks need to be worrying about spending the last of their days in a supermax.  Health Sec. Kennedy announced that perhaps, soon there will be a treatment for those who currently have this terrible malady.  The sister-in-law of a local resident has the disease and is relegated to eating chicken.

After the rain discussed in last week’s column there was more rain and wind causing quite a bit of flooding in various locations.

Dean Miller & Peanut have both laid down some fine first cutting hay.

Gypsy Moth traps have been placed in the Creston area.  The invasive pest eats tree leaves and can kill majestic trees.

Some local folks visited Droop Mountain and Beartown State Parks.

The federal government held a big lease sale out in the Delaware basin in New Mexico and the bonus bid on one tract was $357,129/acre.

The Creston Food Pantry will have a yard sale at the Burning Springs Community Building on June 5 & 6 with all sorts of goodies such as a motor hoist, generator, car ramps, old pop bottles, Avon, truck tool box, etc.  Others can set up @ $5/space.  For details call Donna Sue at 275-3202 or Linda at 275-1153.

A while back a tree cutting crew cut down all the big trees between the river and W. Va. 5 below the old Jim Petty (Okey J. Campbell) place.  Now the power company has installed poles to run a new line connecting the Petty place with the line that goes up over the hill.

A group with trucks labeled Utility Arborists was clearing right-of-way near Brooksville.  ICE might have been able to apprehend several.

The state road, especially in Calhoun County, sprayed lots of herbicide along the roadway to make sure local residents get their yearly exposure to the “harmless” chemicals.  As one former state road biggy said, “We have to take care of our vendors.”

A no data center sign has been placed along the road at Annamoriah reflecting the big push nationwide against the facilities that allow modern technology, cell phones, etc. to work.  The  anti hydraulic oil & gas well frac crowd is now the anti AI folks and the big operations are funded by the Peoples Liberation Army based in Peking.  It was reported that work on the site for a center in Mason County caused a big local flood.

Local folks are getting letters from Ohio & elsewhere wanting to buy land, minerals, etc.  Folks should be very careful as one letter talked about vacant land that has homes, businesses, etc.  Probably these letters would be best used to start wood fires when winter returns.

There is talk again about leaving the clocks the same year around.  One can only hope.  Such would be good science so, no doubt, there will be objection.

The fractionation plant to which most local natural gas is sent at Hastings Station at Pine Grove is back in service.

The coal baronet who presently is playing U. S. Senator said he had a group that would pay off his debt on the Greenbrier so “the meanies from Omni” didn’t take it away from him.  Turns out it is New York based Kennedy Lewis Financial Management, LLC and that it might take $500 million.  The Greenbrier County tax sale had “Big Jim’s” prize possession in the sale list but no one elected to plunk down $497,370.45 to acquire a lien on the landmark.

Kristen Lonczynska, age 42, of Annamoriah died unexpectantly and her service will be July 12 at 1 P. M. At the Creston Community Building where she had been a volunteer.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude oil dropped to $86.36/bbl. With condensate fetching just $68.36/bbl. And Marcellus & Utica light bringing $75.36/bbl.  The price of natural gas (elsewhere) is $3.29.  While the price of crude has tumbled the price of gasolene has, for the most part, remained high.  No doubt this is a part of the scheme of the pro Iran folks to “make Trump stop the war”.  One must remember that the Big Eared One sent plane loads of cash to ‘his friends’ in Tehran and no doubt some of the cold cash found homes in the USA.  One should remember that gasoline was higher when the fellow who couldn’t remember was the nominal president but it wasn’t news then — we were fighting global warming.
